With over 2 million active installs, All in One SEO Pack is one of the most popular WordPress SEO plugins in the world.

Today, I'm extremely excited to share that All in One SEO plugin is joining the Awesome Motive family.

Michael Torbert (founder of AIOSEO) has done a phenomenal job in building an amazing community over the last decade. Started in 2007, All in One SEO is the original WordPress SEO plugin. I have known Michael for years and have a lot of respect for all that he has accomplished.

As he wanted to pursue the next chapter of his life, we started discussing the future of All in One SEO plugin.

Given our experience running a suite of popular WordPress plugins, All in One SEO was a perfect fit for our family of products.

Who are we?

Hi, my name is Syed Balkhi. I'm the founder and CEO of Awesome Motive. We build amazing products that help small businesses grow and compete with the big guys.

We're the team behind some of the most popular plugins and resources in the WordPress ecosystem:

What does this acquisition mean for existing users?

Aside from new ownership change, it’s business as usual. You can continue to use the plugin that you love without any interruptions.

With exception of Michael, the entire All in One SEO team joined Awesome Motive. This means that you are still being supported by the same talented people.

On top of that, we have added more team members from Awesome Motive that will be working on the All in One SEO project (including myself).

In a near future release, you will see a small plugin design refresh in the WordPress admin area.

With our experience and a dedicated team, we will be adding several new features and improvements to All in One SEO WordPress plugin in the near future.

What's Coming Next?

Our work is just starting.

I have been in the SEO industry since 2006 and have learnt a lot over the years. My websites get over 60 million visitors a year, and we have built a lot of internal SEO tools that I'm really looking forward to sharing with the WordPress community.

I'm also friends with some of the leading SEO experts like Neil Patel, Eric Siu, Harsh Agrawal, and others.

We will be bringing the best of their knowledge along with several of their internal tools into the All in One SEO plugin, so you can literally have the BEST SEO tool in the industry.

It's truly going to be a game changer!

Our goal is to build a SEO plugin that's reliable and results focused.

A WordPress SEO plugin that a beginner, non-techy, small business owner can easily setup in 10 minutes and actually get actionable insights on how to improve their rankings.

We have a lot to cover, but we're up for the challenge. I sat down with the team, and we have a crystal-clear 12 month plan. A lot of exciting things are coming your way in the coming months.

I want to thank Michael for all the hard work he put into AIOSEO, and I wish him all the best in his future endeavors.

  2. This is great news! A colleague of mine and I were discussing All in One SEO verses other popular SEO Plugins, and I have decided to use the plugin instead of the other. We find that the tool performs better when considering search rankings for most of our clients’ sites. The other plugins that AiOSEO joins are top notch as well. Look forward to the changes!

  7. Wow. SEO News widget for the win. I wasn’t expecting something like this to happen here and I’m glad for Mike with all the success and moving on. Got to meet him at Boston WordCamp 2010 and actually was going to wear that shirt to the Miami one in a couple of weeks.

    I’ll never forget seeing his badge as we took a break and was like wait I know you (from me using AiO 10 years ago).

    Glad to see the baton passed to someone like Syed, a commoner at Miami WordCamp and many others I’m sure. It’s in good hands. Always was a huge cult fan of AiO over Bloast, but now there’s a another new large competitor in the space and I think Syed can do better, as we use WPForms and have experience with the finished feel they have a knack for with their plugins. When applied to AiO SEO, it’ll be a good match.

  8. I have very mixed feelings about this acquisition. I purchased AIOSEO because it was founded by and run by a Veteran. I am sad to see that this will no longer be the case.

    1. Hi Lauren, I have a lot of respect for the courageous men and women who serve our country. My brother currently serves in the US Navy, and my cousin is in the US marines. We also have team members in Awesome Motive that are veterans.

  15. Hi, my only concern re the ‘awesome’ features is will the Pro version start looking like a kid’s playground like so many ‘awesome’ plugins?
    I’m talking here about the visuals, we use the Pro version for business clients and they don’t want ‘flashy’ graphics and ‘Why not do this or that..’ banners all over the place, just a nice clean interface…

  19. Congratulations, I hope you bring great features with a pocket-friendly budget for paid features. At the same time don’t forget the newbies who might not have a budget for big budgets. great news I have been following you and WPbeginners for years.

    1. Hey Vincent, yes one of our goals is to make better features more affordable. Most small businesses can’t afford tools like SEMRush or Ahrefs, so we want to bring some of those powerful features into our existing pricing plans.

      We will also be expanding the free version offering with more features 🙂

  21. AIOSEO was my first SEO plugin and liked it the most but due to limited features which others are providing even in the free version, I switched to them.

    Currently, my all site are on Rank Math.

    Hope this new collaboration will make AIO the best among them.

  24. Congrats Syed. Curious, what happens to the other plugins such as Subscribe2 and mail queue that were sold alongside All in one SEO?

    1. Hey Austin, we’re going to be focusing 100% on All in One SEO Pack, so the other plugins will be removed from the website.

      They were built by a third-party developer, and we’re in communication with him. He is building a new website for those plugins. Until that time, we are still offering support for those plugins. After that, we will be sending out an email communication to all customers that have active license for those two plugins about more details.

  26. Proud to use best SEO plugin for WordPress as if now was using Yoast SEO but since the later does not supports META keywords which i think is very much important part of SEO process.
