Missing All in One SEO Pack 2.6 post and page meta

If you updated to the latest version of All in One SEO Pack (2.6) for WordPress recently, you may have noticed what appears to be an alarming change. Let's back up a bit.

Previously, we had a somewhat minor bug where if you had SEO on only these post types all unchecked, the meta entry fields would still show up.

In version 2.6, we fixed this issue.

That means for some users who inadvertently had all these checkboxes unchecked and didn't know it, updating gives the appearance of your SEO meta entry fields disappearing.

If this happens, don't be alarmed. No data is missing.

Simply go to wp-admin->All in One SEO Pack->General Settings and scroll down to SEO for Custom Post Types and enable this setting then check the boxes you'd like under SEO on only these post types (Posts and pages are checked by default on new installs.)

Users also report not seeing the Display Settings section, this is because that section will not be populated with options until you enable SEO for Custom Post Types. If your Display Settings section is empty then make sure you enable SEO for Custom Post Types.

  1. Hi Michael,

Can you help me? I want to remove date in SERP Meta(For pages only). Using all in one SEO.

Is there any way? I repeat want to remove date from PAGES only.

E’ normale?

  3. Hi Michael,

Can you help me? I want to show META KEYWORD FIELD in my website’s home page Using all in one SEO.

    Is this possible?

  4. Is All in One SEO Pack better than Yoast SEO?.. Because I have been using Yoast SEO on some blogs, but All in One SEO Pack seems to be better. Can you help me out?

  5. If I just enable it and do not use the checkboxes for the “SEO only on these Post Types” setting, should this be better?

  6. Recently I have moved to “all in one SEO” for 10 websites from Yoast. The inbuilt SEO data Import Tool of all in on SEO is great to transfer data from the Yoast.

But I think there are missing following features when transferring the SEO data.

    1) If I use the external featured image in Yoast social tab, the social data should be imported as the social field in all in one SEO.

    2) after importing from us there should be an option to delete the existing post metadata. When I have used SEO transport functions of Yoast there is an option to delete after import from All in One SEO.

  7. Hi Michael, I followed your directions and solved the problem. However, I couldn’t see the meta tags section at the bottom of the post (All in One SEO plugin box) Could you please tell me how can I see and add meta tags for each post. Thanks, A.J.

  8. Help. I used to be able to set images to go out with social media feeds using this plugin but now it doesn’t work. I’ve tried so many things to make it work, but I’m not terribly technical and really need help. Please help me.

  9. If I just enable it and do not use the checkboxes for the “SEO only on these Post Types” setting, should this be better?

  10. Thank you. I’m using this plugin, but only the free version.
Does the Premium version have any special features? Please give me a brief summary of the differences.

    1. All in One SEO Pack Pro has various features that aren’t available in the free plugin, these are:

      • Support for categories, tags and custom taxonomies so that you can manage the SEO for each individual category, tag or taxonomy just like you do for posts and pages
      • Advanced support for WooCommerce & other eCommerce sites
      • Video XML Sitemap module so that you can submit video sitemaps to search engines like Google and Bing

In addition, All in One SEO Pack Pro includes priority access to Premium Support through our dedicated support forum & via e-mail, and access to video tutorials about SEO and the plugin.

You can purchase a license for All in One SEO Pack Pro here – https://aioseo.com/all-in-one-seo-pack-pro-version/

  11. All in One SEO Pack simply disappeared… like if it weren’t installed anymore. I tried to download it again and it just says “destination folder already exists”. Anyone knows how to fix it?

  12. When I switched from Yoast to All in One SEO I lost all my post titles, descriptions, and keywords on the dashboard where it lists all my post, pages, categories, etc. Do you know how I could retrieve all this data back? Thank you.

  13. After updating to 2.9.1, the Meta Title and Meta Description on my homepage no longer work (All in One SEO Pack).

  14. It does not set the Image i choose in Wordpress. But set’s the “default user” Image on all the posts. How can i resolve this.

  15. Hello I am using same tool for my website and i am not getting what exact it means can you please describe it more widely.

  16. I need some help. I use All in One SEO for my site. First, I want to know if I really need it, because I was reading that WordPress by default is SEO friendly. Second, what happens if I uninstall All in One SEO from my site. Are the titles and meta descriptions still available?

    1. You need a dedicated SEO plugin for WordPress; otherwise you wouldn’t have a sitemap or be able to define the title and description of your pages, among other things. Uninstalling/deactivating All in One SEO Pack will remove your titles and meta descriptions from your posts, but doesn’t delete them in your database, which means that they’ll be used again as soon as you reinstall/reactivate All in One SEO Pack.

    2. WordPress can be SEO friendly, but doesn’t do everything you need. It lacks all the functionality present in All in One SEO Pack.
If you uninstall All in One SEO Pack, you’ll lose all its functionality.

  17. I don’t know if it’s just me or if everyone else encountering
issues with your site. It appears as though some of the written text on your
content are running off the screen. Can someone else please comment and let me know if this is happening
to them as well? This may be a issue with my internet
browser because I’ve had this happen before.
    Kudos

  18. I’m having the problem you describe in this post on published pages. In the page editor there’s noting, but on new pages in the page editor it’s there as it is with custom post types and posts. Any ideas?

    1. We haven’t heard that before. I’d check to make sure that our meta box isn’t collapsed and that you’ve enabled All in One SEO Pack under Screen Options.

    2. Also, the problem in this post was fixed over a year ago. You haven’t given any background, such as whether this is a new install, you recently updated AIOSEOP, or any other information about what may have prompted this, but whatever you’re experiencing is likely unrelated to the this post.

  19. I am using Yoast and thinking about getting All in One SEO Pro.

Can your pro version automatically import my existing meta data, site and page names etc?

  20. I recently switched from yoast to allinone. Now I lost all keywords title and other info.nearly 300 posts I made.Is there any way to import that data from yoast to allinone

  21. Hi! I am confused as to why Chrome’s SEO extensions (like “SEO Meta in 1 click”) does not display any of my specific meta descriptions which I have written for my pages and posts via AIOSEO. They are also not displayed when I google search my posts. My meta keywords on the other hand work with my Chrome’s SEO extension. What can I do so my AIOSEO meta descriptions could be actually shown? Please do not only recommend buying your paid subscription. Thanks!

    1. Hi Ingrid,
We haven’t tested using the Chrome extension yet but if you want to open a support ticket, we can take a closer look at your website and determine if the meta tags are properly being added to the page. You can open the support ticket using this link: https://aioseo.com/contact/

  22. Why do most of my posts have a SEO score of N/A? Out of 107 posts only three have scores. For reference these are 89/100, 100/100 and 76/100.

    Thanks.

    Edwin

    1. Hi Edwin,
The plugin only shows a score for posts that were created/updated after the plugin was installed. To scan old/existing posts is currently not possible because the code runs in the browser, not the server. If this didn’t answer your question, please feel free to contact us using the link below:

  23. I’m only getting a pretty much blank screen asking for me to join PRO in my Gen Settings… Need help please.

  24. The recent AIOSEO update has changed the home page title and meta description on my client’s website. I have the proper tags in the Home page, but they seem to be overwritten by AIOSEO. We are using the basic plan.
Can you please advise me on how to correct this?
    Thanks in advance.
